Regardless of the nature of the inconsistency, I have not heard of any hardware webcams that have the same level of problems, so this again points to the implementation.In speaking with folks in the developer discord there appeared to be an inconsistency in how different applications talk to webcams.Many users reported issues with WebEx, KakaoTalk, and Vidyo not recognizing the webcam device at all, or if it does recognize the device, failing to open it.Upon it's release the native VirtualCam device had far less application support than the previous plug-in that was (and still is) available.In particular, I feel comfortable about the validity of the following data points: I understand your position, and while I agree that there is no way to know with 100% certainty, I base my conjecture on a good deal of experience and with what I feel is a fairly good understanding of the history of how problems regarding OBS's new native implementation of VirtualCam have manifested. Regardless, feel free to open a separate issue about Teams. Also the virtual camera is working fine on Teams for Windows here. I would argue that it's likely not the same reason.

We have absolutely no way to know if it's likely the same reason. That 'likely' is doing a lot of work, here.

It's still broken for Microsoft Teams on my end here, likely due to the very same issue that prevented it from working with WebEx.
